FAQs
Common questions
What happens when you come out to sweep my chimney or quote for a stove?
I'll have a look at your chimney or fireplace, explain what needs doing, and give you a straightforward price before I start any work. For woodburner installs I'll also talk through which stove suits your room.
How much does a sweep or a woodburner installation cost?
Every job gets a fair, upfront price once I've seen what's involved, there's no set fee for a stove install since it depends on the equipment and work needed. Sweeping is quoted before I start.
Are you insured and is the work guaranteed?
Yes, I'm fully insured and stand behind my workmanship on every sweep and installation I carry out.
How long does a chimney sweep or stove installation take?
A routine sweep usually takes under an hour. A full woodburner installation typically takes a day, depending on the flue liner and any extra work needed.
How do I know if there's a real problem with my chimney, not just soot?
I can run a CCTV inspection to look inside the flue and check for cracks, blockages or damage. If I spot anything while sweeping or installing, I'll tell you honestly rather than let it go unmentioned.
What areas do you cover?
I cover Crickhowell and the surrounding area, including Abergavenny, Brecon, Talgarth, Llangynidr, Bwlch, Gilwern, Llanfoist and Govilon.
