Question 1

How does a chimney sweep visit work?

Accepted Answer

I come out, dust sheet the fireplace, sweep the flue thoroughly, and check for any obvious issues as I go. It's a straightforward visit and I'll talk you through anything I find before I leave.

Question 2

How much does a sweep cost?

Accepted Answer

Every job is quoted clearly, and I'll always tell you the price before I start. Get in touch with a few details about your fireplace or stove and I'll give you a straight answer.

Question 3

Are you insured and is the work guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I'm fully insured and stand behind every sweep I carry out. If you have any questions after the visit, I'm happy to help.

Question 4

How long does a sweep take?

Accepted Answer

Most sweeps take under an hour, depending on the type of fireplace or stove and how long it's been since the last clean.

Question 5

How do you know if there's a bigger problem with my chimney?

Accepted Answer

As I sweep I'm checking for signs of damage, blockages or wear in the flue. If something looks like it needs a closer look, I'll explain what I've seen and what I'd recommend next.

Question 6

What areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

I cover Guildford and the surrounding area, including Godalming, Woking, Merrow, Ash, Cranleigh, Farnham, Leatherhead and Dorking.
