Dust sheets down, brushes and rods through the flue to clear soot and debris, floors left as found.
I lay dust sheets around the hearth before I start, then work brushes and rods up through the flue to clear soot, tar and any debris that's built up since the last sweep. Everything comes down and gets bagged straight away, so nothing ends up on your carpets or furniture.
Once the flue's clear I run a draw test to check it's pulling properly, and talk you through anything I've noticed while I was up there. Most chimneys need sweeping once a year, and I'll tell you honestly if yours can wait or needs doing sooner.
